YoFi Artist Talk:
LAURA PERDRIZET
Contemporary Artist & Filmmaker Laura Perdrizet will share her current body of artwork as well as insights into her artistic process. Uniquely working across the visual, performing, and media arts, Laura’s artwork and methods of making are inventive and multi sensory. Utilizing both fine art mediums and new media technologies, Laura’s research-based practice takes a contemporary approach to materiality, form, and interdisciplinarity.
Inspired by wanderlust, language, and the seduction of movement in any medium, Laura creates visceral, conceptually grounded experimental narratives, most often in the form of installation, video, performance, sculpture, photography, and writing. Her work has been shared across the USA and internationally, including exhibitions, screenings, performances, lectures and publications that incite dialogues about space & place, memory, translation, and experimental narratology.
Invested in community and inspired by creative collaboration, Laura is a Yonkers resident and works across Westchester county and NYC. A passionate educator, Laura is an Assistant Professor of Fine Arts at University of Mount Saint Vincent in Riverdale, Bronx.
